Jenny has an extensive background in dance and fitness. Graduating with a degree in Exercise Science, she continued her dancing while cheering for the New England Patriots. ABBIE APPEL

Abbie is an international fitness expert and educator who has written the SCW Barre Certification and updated the SCW Pilates Matwork Certification. She is a Rykä® Ambassador and a Master Trainer and Consultant for Activmotion Bar™, Body Bar® and Schwinn®. As an honored SCW faculty member, she has designed fitness programs and contributed to certifications, videos, magazines and journals and possesses multiple certifications and awards.

DEBBIE BELLENGER

Debbie is Director of Wellness for CaroMont Regional Healthcare system. She develops, delivers and customizes medical wellness programs for employees, patients and the community. Debbie is a four-time IDEA Program Director award finalist, a Medical Fitness Association Program Director of the Year for Corporate Wellness (2015), and her programs have won national awards. She is a Reebok Master Trainer and TRX Master Trainer, and she holds ACSM, ACE, AFAA, TRX, YMCA and Pilates certifications.


NATALIE BAYERSDORFER

Natalie has 20 years of experience in the fitness industry. She holds certifications for TRX® and TurboKick® and is ACE & AFAA® certified in Group Fitness and Personal Training. She is a Wello Trainer and offers ONLINE training sessions to clients globally. She is the creator of Cardio BootCANp™ series and Phunk Pilates™. She is a former Zumba® Jammer specializing in the Salsa Rhythm and in 2017 became a Master Trainer for STRONG By Zumba®. She is the proud owner of a boutique fitness studio The Cal-Zone and prides herself on being a fitness motivator.

Kristin found her passion for fitness through a personal health and weight loss journey that started when she became a mom. A firm believer that fitness should be fun, Kristin created a buzz with a successful Hula Hoop business in Nashville that brought thousands of women on a journey to health through fun, no-impact fitness, which pushed her to leave corporate America behind. A seasoned Master Trainer and now Senior Vice President of FXP Fitness, Kristin’s encouraging high-energy teaching is contagious!

LAWRENCE BISCONTINI, MA

Lawrence is an SCW Faculty Member, Presenter and Mindful Movement Specialist who has won multiple industry-recognized awards. He is currently on the Advisory Board for the International Council on Active Aging (ICAA), and he is the Senior Consultant for Power Music®. Lawrence has contributed to the BOSU® Developmental Team and is currently a Registered Yoga Alliance Teacher. ELIZABETH BOWERSOX

Elizabeth has a BA from West Virginia University and is currently a group fitness instructor for Club True Barre in Ocoee, FL. She’s a Barre Above-certified instructor, an SCW Aqua-certified instructor and an AFAA-certified Personal Trainer. Elizabeth’s extensive dance background and passion for group fitness bring an enthusiasm that drives and empowers members to reach their own personal fitness goals. Elizabeth’s classes produce results and leave students feeling stronger, leaner and more flexible!


KIM BRETZ, MS

Kim is full-time Faculty in Kinesiology and Athletics at Laney College Community College. Holding a Bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology and Physical Education with a Concentration in Commercial and Corporate Fitness, Kim has a Master’s Degree in Exercise Science and 25 years of teaching experience in the fitness industry.

BETH CANUEL

Beth is a Professional Dancer, Instructor, and Choreographer with 20 years of extensive dance experience. She earned her Bachelor’s degree in Biology, after which she pursued a career in dance. She has studied and taught ballroom dance for the past decade and competed Professionally throughout the United States. As a Master Trainer for LaBlast Fitness, she has presented nationally and internationally and truly enjoys teaching new instructors the skills necessary to excel as a fitness professional. Beth is the Owner/Founder of UNITE Dance & Fitness in the Greater Boston area.

REBECCA COFOD

Throughout her career, Rebecca has worked with many types of organizations helping them to excel in their marketing and sales efforts. With a Master’s Degree in Business and Marketing, she has worked with hundreds of health and fitness organizations to help them see value using programs, systems, and products to engage with their members with a clear focus on motivating consistency of participation. The measurable outcome of this engagement is increased revenue from acquisition, retention and referrals.


FABIO COMANA, MA, MS

Fabio is a Faculty Member at San Diego State University and UC, San Diego and a proud SCW Faculty Member. Previously, as an ACE exercise physiologist, he was the primary developer of ACE’s IFT™ model and live personal training educational workshops. Prior experiences include collegiate head coaching, strength and conditioning and opening/managing clubs for Club One. An international presenter, Fabio has been featured in multiple media outlets and is an accomplished chapter and book author.

MEGAN COOPERMAN

Megan is a Master Trainer and presenter for LaBlast Fitness. She conducts Instructor Trainings for LaBlast Fitness and LaBlast Splash. Megan has managed a large group fitness program for many years. She was a Maryland Distinguished Scholar in the Arts for Dance, and has extensive dance and fitness training. Megan is certified by AFAA, ACA, and AEA.

STEVE FEINBERG

Steve is a USA Boxing coach, strength and conditioning coach and group fitness instructor in New York City. He is highly regarded for his work with athletes from local amateurs to professional world champions, male and female, in a variety of weight divisions. He also is founder of Speedball Fitness, a multidirectional conditioning class that utilizes the weight-shifting SpeedBALL. Steve brings his passion for the fusion of ancient and current movement to every program he develops.

NATHALIA FERREIRA

Nathalia has been in the dance world since an early age. While on a dance journey in Brazil, she worked on soap operas and short films, and when she relocated to the U.S., she kept up with her passion for dance. In 2009, Nathalia found Zumba®, and it wasn’t long before the hobby became a career. In 2011, Nathalia opened Momentum Fitness in Fairfield, Connecticut, where she grew the Zumba® program and turned the boutique-style studio into a successful accomplishment. In 2013, Nathalia became a Zumba® Education specialist for the Toning and Sentao™ specialties.

Elisabeth is a PowerWave Master Trainer and an ACE Certified Group Fitness Instructor. In addition, Elisabeth holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Exercise Science and has over 12 years of experience in the fitness industry from a personal trainer to regional level fitness management. Elisabeth is also an author of numerous articles on personal training and group fitness programming and currently serves as the Education Coordinator and primary content contributor for Power Systems.

SONJA FRIEND-UHL

Sonja is a seasoned fitness pro with over 20 years of experience. She is an ACE Health Coach, ACSM certified Personal Trainer and USATF certified running coach. From owning her own training studio to managing athletic clubs and traveling the world as a Master Trainer for Core Health & Fitness, Sonja has a comprehensive perspective of the industry. Her personal athletic achievements include a current World Record in the Women’s Masters Mile with a time of 4:44.

DANIEL GALANTO

Dan has been involved with exercise science since 2006. He has had the opportunity to view health from a variety of different perspectives including medicine, fitness, public health and exercise science. He is a full-time epidemiologist studying the prevention of non-communicable disease like obesity. In the fitness field, Dan has been certified as a personal trainer, strength and conditioning specialist and/or special populations specialist since 2007. He also teaches personal training and speaks on various aspects of fitness.


HERSON GARCIA

Herson is a specialist in sports performance and faulty movement correction. As a level 3 NeuroKinetic Practitioner and ACE Personal Trainer, he is an expert in preventing injuries and accelerating performance. He provides scientific programming to competitive athletes and inspires individuals to improve upon their innate abilities. He is the COO of the Garcia Institute of Modern Excellence (GIME) and the Wholota Wellness Company.


KIMBERLY GARCIA

Kimberly is the CEO of the Garcia Institute of Modern Excellence (GIME) and the Wholota Wellness Company. With over 20 years of experience in the health and fitness industry, she has become a specialist in motivating individuals to become their best self. She holds nine national certifications, is a level 3 NeuroKinetic Practitioner, Egoscue Posture Specialist and a holistic health coach. Her educational programs have helped thousands improve their health across the world. Her goal is to inspire individuals to ValueSelf™.


ANDREW GAVIGAN

Andrew is an 11-year veteran of the fitness industry with focus on corporate wellness services, portable fitness equipment, and fitness accessibility. He is founder of both MostFit, LLC, the creators of the MostFit Core Hammer, SYN Rings, and Onyx Board, and AGF Wellness, a corporate wellness services provider for a number of companies in the greater L.A. area.

NICO GONZALEZ

Nico is an international fitness educator and owner of Fitness Physiques by Nico G in Cincinnati, Ohio. Certified through NASM in personal training, ACE for group exercise and PMA for Pilates, Nico’s well-rounded approach to fitness is based in anatomy, experience and inspiration. Nico presents workshops in Pilates, strength training, choreography and program management at Pilates on Tour and internationally in Canada, Russia, Italy and South America. Nico is featured in several videos showcasing his creative approach to movement.

ELIAN HAAN

Elian has a background in dance and came to the US from Amsterdam in 1995 as a licensed fitness instructor. She is the owner of a yoga/fitness studio in Texas and works at a national rehab facility teaching and developing mind-body classes. With her almost 35 years of experience in the fitness industry, she has developed several programs for seniors, which is a growing market for fitness facilities. She is certified in several disciplines like Step, Pilates, Zumba, Piloxing, Yoga, Tai Chi and Qi Gong and has developed her own programming as well.


JEFF HOWARD

Jeff is a world-renowned fitness presenter who has lived in South Africa, Puerto Rico and the United States. As part of the SCW Faculty, he has starred in numerous SCW Fitness videos and has educated fitness professionals at conventions worldwide for over a decade. Jeff trained countless celebrities as the pioneer instructor at the Golden Door Spa and has appeared on several national TV shows. Jeff is currently the Promotional Director of Fitness for Milestone Baptist East.

Katrina thrives on creating a life she loves and helping others. She blends health, wealth and business coaching to propel people to prosperity. Katrina triumphed over 1.2 million to win a spot on The Apprentice 2004 pre-production. She has been a keynote speaker with Fitness MBA and American Institute of CPAs, among others, and has spoken on issues ranging from finance to fitness and beyond. She also created FIT Life Creation, a one-stop lifestyle brand, and partners with global and national brands.

Francesca has 26 years of fitness-industry experience that encompasses corporate, hospital, university and commercial settings as well as group fitness and personal training. She holds a B.S. in Exercise Science and an M.S. in Health Promotion & Wellness Management. Francesca also is a corporate senior exercise physiologist, hospital health & wellness coordinator, director of personal training, university fitness director and a Presenter and Master Trainer for Schwinn since 2001.

SARA KOOPERMAN, JD

Sara is an international favorite IHRSA, IDEA, AFC, Club Industry, YMCA, AYP, MFA, ICAA and ABC Conference presenter. Sara is the owner and Executive Director of SCW Fitness Education and founder of the eight MANIA® Fitness Instructor Training Conventions along with WATERinMOTION®. Sara is an attorney who was selected as a Gold Medal winner distinguishing her as a business leader who has contributed to the economic health of her community. She also received the state honor as Business Woman of the Year. Sara is a former lecturer for ACSM and is the proud recipient of AEA’s Global Award for Contribution to the Aquatic Industry. Sara has served on the Gold’s Gym Think Tank and has been inducted into the National Fitness Hall of Fame.

LEN KRAVITZ, PhD

Len is a favorite presenter at SCW MANIA® conventions and no stranger to accolades; Len was voted into the National Fitness Hall of Fame in 2016. He received the prestigious Canadian Fitness Professionals Lifetime Achievement Award in 2008, was named CanFitPro’s “Specialty Presenter of the Year” in 2006 and 2009 and earned the ACE® “Fitness Educator of the Year” title in 2006. Len is also the Program Coordinator of Exercise Science at the University of New Mexico where he won the “Outstanding Teacher of the Year” award.

Stephanie is an international fitness presenter who created the four-part interval training system, PLYOGA®. Stephanie is an educator for AFAA, ACE, CanFitPro, NASM and SCW. She has a BS in Education from Towson University where she was a NCAA Division I Athlete in both Track and Field (current Long Jump Record Holder) and Gymnastics. Stephanie has won a Physique and Figure competition after giving birth to her first of two children, Savannah and Cameron.

Melissa is a Kinesiology Department faculty member at the University of North Georgia. She has 30 years of experience and a Master’s degree in Exercise Physiology. She taught elementary PE and coordinated fitness programs for Royal Caribbean, Home Depot and orthopedic surgeons. Melissa is the author of WATER EXERCISE (Human Kinetics 2015), a member of the educational faculty and a DVD presenter for SCW. She is well versed at taking complicated material and breaking it down into easily understood pieces.

With a Master’s in Educational Psychology and a certificate in Wellness Coaching, Elizabeth’s mission is to help clients become their “best selves.” She emphasizes self-expression and how it FEELS to exercise and not letting what we cannot do interfere with what we can do. Elizabeth, who is all about creating a group exercise experience, is founder and President of InnerAthlete in East Longmeadow, MA. With experience directing at facilities including World’s, Gold’s, Bally’s, non-profits and the collegiate arena, she stays on top of industry trends and education. She possesses numerous certifications from dance, cycling, mind/body and more and is a Senior National Master Trainer for BOSU®, Tabata Bootcamp™, Kamagon, Surge, Barre Above®, and Gliding™.

Gia is an international fitness instructor, writer, and co-founder of Fitness Vacation Exchange and AquaBodyStrong, an aquatic fitness board and workout that is capturing the hearts of fitness enthusiasts worldwide. A former competitive gymnast and coach, Gia is enamored with movement, balance, and strength. She holds a BS in Biology from CSU, Fullerton, owned and operated a 1500 member health club in San Clemente, California and shares her passion for fitness by teaching AquaBodyStrong, Zumba, Aqua Zumba, and Yoga in Cozumel, Mexico.

Sheldon is the Training Director for the well-known and highly respected Universal Athletic Club. Holding a BS in Biology and an MS in Human Nutrition, Sheldon is well-known for his depth of understanding and training that emphasizes function and high-intensity. Sheldon is a Global leader, training fitness pros throughout the U.S., Russia, Slovenia, Brazil, Canada, New Zealand and Mexico. He applies his invaluable expertise having contributed to international certification training development and continuing educational content.


PETE MCCALL, MS

Pete is an ACE and NASM Certified Personal Trainer, consultant and host of the All About Fitness podcast. In addition, Pete is a CSCS with the NSCA and holds a MS in Exercise Science. Pete is a blogger for ACE, online instructor for NASM, teaches group fitness and is an author of numerous articles and textbook chapters. Currently, Pete is a well-respected adjunct faculty at Mesa College and a proud SCW Faculty member having created and contributed to multiple SCW Certifications.

TRICIA MURPHY MADDEN

Tricia is the Education Director for Savvier Fitness and a former club owner and fitness director for 15 years. In addition to co-creating Barre Above™, she has developed many highly acclaimed programs including Urban Striptease Aerobics, My Best Friends Workout, a fitness program designed for pet owners to get in shape while walking their pet and the ABC’s of Exercise, which is a children’s book that provides 10–20 minutes of exercise for kids ages 3–6 years old.

Bruce has a BA from the University Florida as well as a Plant Based Nutrition Certification from Cornell University. Having done extensive research on dietary patterns and how it affects health, Bruce shares insights into the latest myths regarding nutrition, food and its impact on society. He is currently Director of Sales for Savvier Fitness, an industry leader in creating innovative programs and products for fitness professionals including Tabata Bootcamp™.
