JOHNNY ADAMIC

Johnny Adamic is a Minneapolis-based entrepreneur and co-founder of Brrrn—the fitness brand behind the Brrrn Board. Adamic is a former public health official at the New York City Department of Health and Mental Hygiene, having served on the Obesity Task Force established by Mayor Bloomberg. He has co-authored papers regarding how the built environment, like stair use, can create access to health in everyday living. A registered yoga teacher and certified personal trainer (NASM), Adamic also wrote for The Daily Beast as a health, fitness and food contributor. Mr. Adamic graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 2006 with a BA in Journalism and Communication Theory. He earned a master’s degree in Food Studies from New York University in 2010 in the Department of Nutrition, Food Studies and Public Health.

ABBIE APPEL

Abbie Appel is the owner of AbbieFit Consulting and collaborates with organizations including YMCA, Crunch, and Equinox. As an author and program developer, she authored the SCW Pilates and SCW Barre Education Certifications, contributed to the ACSM Group Exercise Manual and Schwinn Indoor Cycling Certification Manual. Abbie is an acclaimed presenter for ACSM, IDEA, IHRSA, and SCW, among others. She delivers fitness education for world-class brands including Nautilus, Schwinn, and TRX. Abbie was awarded SCW Fitness Presenter of the Year.

DORIA ARONSON

In 2004, while in law school, Doria became a certified personal trainer. Since then she has taught numerous group fitness formats, including Spinning, Step, Barre, HIIT, Bootcamps and Yoga Sculpt. In 2020, Doria started an athletic training business, Beyond the Game Training, where she works with youth and adult athletes (and athletes at heart). She helps athletes achieve their fitness goals through movement, nutrition and mindset and the power of building a community.

CHAD AUSTIN

Chad Austin is the owner of Priority Fitness in Overland Park, KS, and is also the best selling and award winning author of the book series, “Make Fitness A Priority.” Chad is a regularly called upon fitness and wellness guest expert for local and national media. He was the host of the talk radio show, “Be Fit…For Life”, and has been featured on over 40 podcasts.

BRITTANY BALDWIN, MA

Brittany is the Assistant Director of Fitness at Florida International University. She has presented at over seven national conferences on a diverse array of topics related to fitness and wellness program management and solutions. She is a published author of research studies as well as fitness editorial content, and currently works as an adjunct instructor for the Recreation and Sports Management department at FIU.

JULIAN BARNES, JD

Julian Barnes is the Co-Founder and CEO of BFS, a peer network and business education provider for boutique fitness businesses. He is the former Director, Marketing at Velocity Sports and he taught the Fitness Marketing & Management course at the Swedish Institute in NYC. He also created NYU’s Institute in Entrepreneurship & Small Business Management and he earned his BA from Tufts University and his JD from the UNC at Chapel Hill School of Law.

NATALIE BAYERSDORFER

Natalie Bayersdorfer has close to 25 years of experience in the fitness industry. She holds licenses/certifications for many formats including Level 1 Yoga, POUND®, TRX®, Zumba®, Barre etc and is NASM® and ACE® certified in Group Fitness and Personal Training with a focus on Orthopedic Specialty. She is the creator of Cardio BootCANp™ and Bod Squad™ series. She is a former Jammer who specialized in the Salsa Rhythm and in 2017 became a Master Trainer for STRONG Nation™, a popular HIIT Class. She has been a Group Fitness Director for a popular Boston Gym and also offers classes for various Life Time Athletic locations.

CARRIE BOYLE

Carrie is a fitness professional with an extensive background in both movement and the business behind exercise programming. She holds certifications as a NASM Personal Trainer and CES, an Integrative Nutrition Health Coach, and a CrossFit L1 Trainer. Carrie worked as a National Field Trainer with the SilverSneakers and currently runs a personal training business in Buffalo NY, is a Coach with 99Walks, and leads the National Instructor Training program for Jetti Fitness.

MAC CARVALHO

With over 10 years of fitness experience & 18+ years of dance experience, this New Bedford, MA native is no stranger to movement. He has been featured in instructor choreography releases for POP Pilates, WATERinMOTION®, and is featured on the HIGH Fitness Live App. He hopes to spread his sparkle and enthusiasm to help make fitness achievable, accessible, and attainable for all!

SIRI CHILAZI, MBA, MA

Siri has an MBA from Harvard Business School, a Master’s Degree in Public Policy from the Harvard Kennedy School, and a BA in Chemistry and Physics from Harvard College. She is a Research Fellow at the Women and Public Policy Program and is a recognized expert in promoting gender equality. Siri is a master trainer for Cardio Yoga® and RAQ THE BARRE® by RAQISA®, and her other specialty certifications include Pilates, Barre Above® and Balletone®.

CHRISTINE CONTI, MEd

Christine is an international fitness educator, speaker, course author, Arthritis and Orthopedic Fitness Specialist, and creator of SCW Chronic Disease Specialist Certification. She has worked over 20 years in the medical fitness industry helping to prevent and battle disease through healthy lifestyles. Christine serves on the MedFIT Network education advisory board, she is an avid podcaster, as well as the creator of FallPROOF Fall Prevention and Let’s FACE It Together Facial Exercise & Rehabilitation. Christine’s signature best-selling book, SPLIT-SECOND COURAGE, was released in January 2022.

ELLEN DE WERD

Ellen de Werd is a 22-year, fitness industry veteran. She is the founder of WARRIOR Rhythm™ and WARRIOR Strength™. Prior to the launch of the WARRIOR Instructor Academy, Ellen garnered national attention as a presenter and educator for Beachbody. In 2021 her WARRIOR format spread internationally to 10 countries. She re-entered the conference scene, taking the nation by storm. Ellen is the Fitness Director at the Downtown Athletic Club and a Lululemon Ambassador in Eugene.

MELANIE DOUGLASS

Melanie Douglass has been sharing her passion for Group X for over 25 years. She’s worked as an instructor, personal trainer, program director, international presenter, TV contributor, and a published author. She’s a Registered Dietitian, AFAA-certified instructor, and the VP of Business Development for lolo (a fitness/ music-based software development company). Melanie created the TONIC fitness brand and is constantly crafting new class ideas, new moves, and new music experiences for the group fitness space.

Bob Esquerre is both nationally & internationally recognized as a Business Planning Consultant, a Fitness Manager, Educator, Author, Personal Trainer and Group Exercise Instructor. As the CEO of the Esquerre Fitness Group International [EFGI], is an active participant in both the national & international lecture circuits as a sought after speaker in the following areas: Personal Training, Business and Management Development, Program Design, Customer Service and Membership Retention.

Nt Etuk is Founder and CEO of FitGrid, a communication and connectivity platform for fitness communities, and Co-Founder of BFS, a peer-to-peer network and business education provider for boutique fitness business owners. Nt is a World Economic Forum Technology Pioneer, a member of Crain’s 40 Under 40 and a member of the 2010 Henry Crown Fellows class at the Aspen Institute. Nt earned a BS in Electrical Engineering from Cornell University, and an MBA at Columbia Business School.

Ronnie Fulton is a Certified Corrective Exercise Specialist, a Certified Personal Trainer, and a Licensed Massage Therapist with a passion for helping people to feel better in their bodies. Ronnie uses massage tools to increase flexibility, minimize pain, and improve performance & has taught thousands to embrace simple self-care strategies. With over 20 years of experience in the health and fitness industry, she regularly hosts sold-out workshops.

BISHOP GARLAND

Bishop is the owner of STREET MOV’T Fitness. A former Army Master fitness trainer, he has over 30 years of experience in the martial arts and fitness fields and holds several different certifications. He is an international ISCA Master Trainer, having conducted workshops and certifications in various formats across the globe. Having worked for companies such as Men’s Health, his innovative programs have been featured in print and television fitness mecca that is NYC.

ANN GILBERT

Ann Gilbert is the fitness industry’s premiere educator on exercise and aging. A successful owner and operator of Shapes Fitness for Women, she oversees the operations of Personal Trainers and Group Fitness professionals, coordinating extremely successful fee-based small group training programs including functional training for the older adult involving strength, balance, coordinator and independence. As an ACE / IHRSA Personal Trainer of the Year, Ann is a featured, sought-after and popular speaker at IHRSA, FBA- Succeed, Club Industry, SCW MANIA®,and IAFC Conventions for decades. DIANA GILBERT

Diana is the Senior Director of Fitness at Chuze Fitness and is celebrating 30+ years of passion for movement. She develops leaders and programming company-wide and specializes as a Matrix Ambassador, providing Cycle Certifications. Diana contributed to the launch and success of iChuze, Chuze’s virtual platform focused on the body, mind, and heart. She is grateful to align with a company that impacts lives through connection, kindness, and making fitness accessible to everyone.

TANISHA HAGGARD

Born and raised in California, Tani has been involved in various dance, theater, and sports programs since adolescence. Her passion for athleticism carried over through the years into college. Shortly after moving and with a degree in hand she was diagnosed with Hashimoto’s Disease. A life-changing move to Florida and 4 autoimmune diseases later Tani is living her passion with a career in health and fitness; bringing electric energy, strength and endurance to the fitness world.

JEFF HOWARD

Jeff Howard has a degree in kinesiology, is an international fitness presenter, SCW Faculty Member, and successful entrepreneur. As a highly sought after fitness consultant, Jeff has traveled extensively, living abroad to elevate fitness standards for Virgin Active in South Africa and Puerto Rico where he founded the Golden Door Spa, as well as managing facilities in the U.S., such as Equinox in Chicago. He has been featured in numerous fitness videos and is a world-renowned celebrity trainer, appearing on several national TV shows, including Bravo’s popular Real Housewives of Salt Lake City. During the pandemic, Jeff launched “Jeff Howard’s Athlete’s Club”, a successful fitness streaming channel, as well as “Jeff Howard Fitness”, a fitness studio in Louisville, KY. Ken Weichert (aka SGT Ken®) is a six-time US Army Soldier of the Year, Master Resilience Trainer, CSP® (Certified Speaking Professional™), and co-founder of the non-profit organization Project HOPE: Help Other People Endure. Ken has impacted and empowered over one million military service members and their families through Operations Family Fit, Fit to Fight, Warrior Fit Camp, and GRIT (Guard Readiness Improvement Training), while supporting the Suicide Prevention Task Force. Ken serves as the Health Advisor for the Adjutant General of the Tennessee National Guard and the Director of Programming for WaterRower®.

SARA KOOPERMAN, JD

Sara, CEO of SCW Fitness Education, WATERinMOTION® & S.E.A.T., is a visionary leader who has transformed the fitness education community. A successful business owner and advisor, she is a keynote speaker, published author, podcast presenter, and sought-after industry trailblazer. Sara has a unique ability to share her passion and devotion towards fitness education through her humor, enthusiasm, and her effervescent no-nonsense personality. She serves on the Gold’s Gym Think Tank, was on the Women in Fitness Association Board of Directors and is a proud inductee into the National Fitness Hall of Fame. CHERI KULP

Cheri Kulp has been a certified fitness professional for over three decades. She holds a degree in Special Education from Wester Chester University and is the Co-Founder of the successful aqua dumbbell program, WATERinMOTION® Strength. Cheri is currently the choreographer for both WATERinMOTION® Original and Strength programs, a marathoner, triathlete, and winner of two national bodybuilding competitions. Cheri has starred in over 100 Fit Pro videos and shares her vast experience and passion for teaching by presenting at SCW MANIA® conferences nationwide. She holds certifications in numerous land-based and aqua programs, including AEA, NASM, WATERinMOTION®, ARC, and Les Mills.

DR. EDWARD LASKOWSKI, MD

Edward R. Laskowski, M.D., is the former Co-director of Mayo Clinic Sports Medicine and is nationally and internationally recognized for his expertise in fitness and sports medicine. Dr. Laskowski studies and promotes best practices for general fitness and injury prevention & injury rehabilitation. From 2006 to 2010, he served on the President’s Council on Physical Fitness and Sports under Presidents Bush and Obama. His goal is to provide accurate, reliable exercise recommendations for all.

MELISSA LAYNE, MEd

Melissa is a Kinesiology Department Faculty Member at the University of North Georgia. She has 35 years of experience in the fitness industry and a Master’s Degree in Exercise Physiology. Melissa is the author of WATER EXERCISE (Human Kinetics 2015), a member of the SCW educational faculty, and wrote the SCW Nutrition Coaching for Fitness Professionals Certification, the SCW Nutrition, Hormones & Metabolism Certification, and contributed to the SCW Active Aging Certification.

ELIZABETH LENART, MEd

With over 25 years in the fitness industry, Elizabeth is an international presenter, content creator and fitness guidance counselor. She’s known for explosive intervals, electric coaching & innovative programming. Elizabeth has an MEd in Educational Psychology and uses counseling and coaching to influence movement and fitness guidance sessions. She’s the National Program Director for Balletone, an MT with BOSU, Barre Above, Tabata Bootcamp, WaterRower, Chaos. She can be seen regularly on Mass Appeal.
