Balance and gait deficits increase with age and are associated with the increased incidence of falls. Gait is a pattern of limb movements. Balance is maintaining one’s center of gravity. Both gait and balance rely on a complex interplay between the brain, nervous system, sensory organs, and musculoskeletal system.
